Toyota was started in 1933 on the basis of the company which was doing textile business. One of the owner's sons decided to open an automobile division.

The first car was created in 1935 and was called Model A1. The same year the first truck was produced. And in some years the division was turned into a separate auto company.

After the World War II one more model was manufactured, but during the economic crisis in 50s the company management policy was reconsidered and the auto division became a separate company. Thanks to quick and effective measures the company recovered rather quickly after the crisis.

Late 50s were the period when the company was doing its best. A lot of research was done, the model range was developed and some legendary models appeared. The company founded the production in the USA. The 60s were characterized by establishing a wide distributor networks all over the world.

The company became really famous after launching such car models as Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry.

Now Toyota is one of the leaders in the car making industry which produces 5.5 million cars a year – a car every six seconds. Toyota Group includes several car brands. In 2002 Toyota participated in Formula 1 for the first time.
