SAAB
Saab, Svenska Aero plan Aktiebolaget, is a Swedish company which produces cars and trucks. The company belongs to GM Corporation.
The company was founded in April 1937 to manufacture military airplanes. The idea to make cars appeared after the war. And the first car was launched at the end of 1946.
Three years later the mass production of sporty cars was started. Saab Standart 92 and 92 DeLuxe were the most famous models. At the end of 50s the cars won several competitions.
The company was the pioneer to introduce safety seatbelts.
In 1968 the brand merged with the truck manufacturer Scania Vabis. In 1989 GM took control over Saab. This allowed the company to enter European market.
Modern Saab cars have Scandinavian design with elegant simplicity. The car is recognized everywhere by its peculiarities. The cars are very comfortable and are easy to drive.
