Mercury

The car trade mark Mercury was created by Henry Ford for producing some models of Ford. At present this trademark belongs to the company Ford. The first generation of stock cars was the model of the year 1938 with 3.9L V-shaped 8-cylinder engines. The cars manufactured before World War II were not very popular with the public. Only after World War II the models designed before the war were placed on the conveyer. One of the most famous models of Mercury became the model Monterey produced in 1950.

Later the vehicles under this trademark were produced for rich and demanding clients. In the second half of the 50s Mercury cars had very extravagant bodies with unusual stylish elements which attracted everyone's attention. One of such models was Turnpike Cruiser. After this period quick unification of Mercury cars with the production of Ford started. Many models of these trademarks have much in common. For example, its cross-country Mountaineer was very similar to Ford Explorer launched in 1996.

At present the cars produced under the trademark Mercury are more comfortable and better equipped than their copies from Ford.
