Mazda

"Mazda" (Mazda Motor Corporation) is a Japanese auto manufacturing company specializing in the production of trucks, buses, minibuses and passenger cars. The establishment of the company Toyo Cork Kogyo in 1920 started the beginning of the trademark Mazda. At that time, Mazda wasn't related to cars at all. It produced corkwood building material.

In the mid 20-s the first example of non-wood products was a motorbike. In 1931 the company started producing three-wheel vehicles. The first transportation vehicles developed by this company were three-wheel scooters. The demand for such vehicles was great at that time – more than 200 000 scooters were produced for 25 years.

After the World War II Mazda started to produce trucks. In 1960 the first model R360 Coupe was launched. It was not very elegant but was cheap and comfortable.

In the early 70s Mazda experienced the real soar of activity. Mazda started exporting its cars in America, new production capacities were launched in Hiroshima. In 1972 the company produced its 5mlnth car.

Thanks to its nice appearance and low price, the car has won great popularity. The symbol of Mazda reminds a flying bird symbolizing the Latin letter "V" which is associated with the word "victory". The excellent quality of Mazda is proved by annual ratings of the German ADAC, TUV and the responses to it in the international press.

At present Mazda manufactures a wide range of vehicles, from compact cars to sedans of Luxury Class. The company is also developing the sector of off-road vehicles and cars of higher capacity. Assembly plants of Mazda in 21 countries of the world let it export its cars to more than 120 countries.
