Land Rover on the Internet

The first Land Rovers appeared after World War II in 1948. The car quickly gained confidence combining the notion of reliability, longevity and qualities of off-road cars and by the year 1959 the 250 000th car had been produced at the plant in Sollyhall.

One of the models of Land Rover, a long base Defender, immediately became popular and 50 years already it hasn't changed its appearance and is considered the best full drive cross-country car.

In 1960s full-drive cross-country vehicles were of great demand and the Land Rover cars were in avant-garde of a new developing segment of the market. The engineers of the company started developing the car, which would combine off-road possibilities, comfort and riding qualities of a family car. Range Rover became such a car. It was launched in 1970 and at once won admiration and popularity.

During 70s and 80a the models were modified demonstrating their reliability at the rally Paris – Dakar. In 1989 at the motor show in Frankfurt the company presented Rover Discovery, which started a new linear of full-drive family cars. In 1994 some changes took place: the corporation BMW acquired the English company Rover Group together with its subsidiary Land Rover. That year Range Rover was updated and modified. At present Range Rover is the standard of an off-road car of Luxury Class.

The trademark Land Rover is presented in most countries of the world and is very popular with clients.
