Jaguar

At first the well-known company Jaguar was presented by the company "SS Car Company" located in Coventry. The operation of the company started before World War II but the output rate was increased after the war. But at first sedans from Jaguar didn't differ a lot from the first models of the company.

In 1949 at the motor show in London the first sports model Jaguar XK-120 was presented to the public and it was the turning point in the history of the company. This model was presented in the form of sedan and limousine and earned the fame of one of the most presentable auto in Great Britain. In 1950-1961 Jaguar XK-120 was modified and updated and depending on its variations was called Jaguar Mk-VI or Jaguar Mk-IX.

In 1951 the sports model Jaguar – C was launched. It was the first car equipped with disk brakes. In 1960 the company Jaguar acquired and incorporated the auto company Daimler and then in 1961 – the company Guy which specialized in producing trucks. In 1963 Jaguar bought the engine-building company Coventry-Climax.

Since 1966 Jaguar has been part of the British Motor Corporation. It was quite important for the corporation in general and for its department. The main task of the company started the production of premium class or luxury cars.

The year 1986 was another turning point in the history of the company - Jaguar joined the American Ford Motor, which had a positive impact on the production – the level of technological and designing production increased considerably.

At present there are four generations of Jaguar: XK8, X-Type, S-Type and XJ, soon the world will see another one – F-Type.
