Daewoo
Daewoo is South Korean company which specializes in car making. Its headquarters is in Seoul. The firm appeared after merging two companies Kia and Asia Motors and this young and active company had very close collaboration with GM. In 1995 Daewoo came to Germany with Nexia and Espero models. The model Nexia was constructed on the base of Opel Kadett E. This model has different names in different countries. But the model Daewoo Matiz made the company absolutely popular. This mini-car was firstly presented in 1998 in Geneva and immediately got its niche on the market. After the crisis in 1998 the company had a lot of difficulties, but Korean government refused to nationalize the firm. All large car corporations fought to purchase the firm and GM won the competition.See also:
