Chevrolet Motor Division is the leading department of GM. The division produces minivans, cars and off-road cars. The company was set up in 1911 by one of GM founders William Durant. He didn't have any special education and he asked the famous racer Lou Chevrolet to help him to design a new model. The name of the sportsman was used to name the company.

In 1912 the first model was done. It was a spacious sedan for 5 people with electric lights. But the car was a bit expensive, that's why the company decided to produce cheap cars suitable for everyone. Thanks to cheap prices and high safety Chevrolet cars became really popular.

Chevrolet constructors made great contribution to the car-making industry. Thanks to them in 1923 the car with the first engine cooling system was made. The company began to install automatic gearbox at the beginning of the 50s. As well in the 50s the company tried to start to produce a sporty car only for the USA.

At present the most popular models are Blazer and Venture. Both models are foul-wheel drive cars with high density features.
