Cadillac

Cadillac is the GM company division which specializes in luxury cars production. The headquarters is in Detroit, Michigan.

The company founders are the engineers Henry Leland and William Murphy. Firstly the factory was named in honor of Detroit founder and as restored from the bankrupt company. In 1903 the first car model A appeared in New York at the car show-room. It was the first attempt to conquer the world. The real fame came after launching model D in 1905. In 1909 GM purchased Cadillac.

Some years later the mass production was set up. The innovation was that the producers installed electric starter that was absolutely new for drivers at that time.

Then Type 61 came which was equipped with windscreen wipers and back mirrors. At the end of the 20s the first design department was organized which upgraded Cadillac models. The first designer car was LaSalle. The model was the winner of many car competitions at that time. For many years Cadillac has been the leader and the innovator. During the World War II Cadillac produced weapons for the army. In 1998 the company manufactured its first off-road car.

All the cars by Cadillac are characterized by high safety measures, new technologies and special design.
